Day Nine of LOCKDOWN!

This morning we headed out to Stoke Woods; it's in walking distance of our house, but there is no pavement along most of the walk there, so we decided it was safer to go by car. Unfortunately, Stoke Woods has decided that people aren't allowed to drive there and have closed all the car parks, so we had to settle for a path near our house to walk along instead. Unfortunately it passes two playgrounds, so we had been avoiding it until now! In the end, they weren't too bad passing the playgrounds, although Tahlia kept commenting that we "really really" must go back to the one with the big slide once we're allowed.

There are many bridges leading to groups of houses

The kids were delighted to spot a little fairy village, with little houses and toadstools

Having a rest

This cat followed us most of the way along the path

We had reserved this afternoon for tidying and cleaning, after the damage done yesterday. All of them were involved in the clean-up; we turned it into various games to keep them entertained along the way.

Collecting (and putting away) toys of a certain colour

Collecting 20 balls for a tiny chocolate egg

However, there were probably thousands of balls to pick up!

Jory comes to 'cash in'

After a while, they decided it wasn't worth the effort to get any more chocolate eggs, and they gradually disappeared to play elsewhere, leaving Mummy to finish up (Daddy was working from home).

After many hours of picking up tiny balls, we moved onto hoovering

It was nice to have lots of help!

Next, they built a den in the garden

Then Ptolemy realised he was on camera!
