Day Forty Nine of LOCKDOWN!

We watched Boris Johnson's new speech from last night with Zachary this morning. Zachary especially enjoyed the numbered bullet points and 'R'-ometer. It seems from the announcement that very little is going to change, although a lot of people are now very confused. The advice is no longer 'stay at home', but 'stay alert'.
After PE with Joe, Zachary was inspired to create his own PE activity cube

Each side has a different workout activity; he plans for us to use it at the weekends

Our friend, Harrison, popped by to say hello and Ptolemy was sad he couldn't come in...

We continued with our Julia Donaldson activities: firstly we played a 'roll and draw' game, in which we had to draw on different features of our Gruffalos...

Jory went 'freestyle'

Working out the type of tongue he had to draw

Tahlia loved adding the details

Showing off their finished Gruffalos

Three very different Gruffalos

As Julia Donaldson's books involve a lot of rhyming, we tried to identify some rhyming words and added some words of our own. Then we played a rhyming related game...

The game of 'roll and rhyme'; we had to identify the rhyming words to beat the game

Jory thought it was funny when we were only one roll away from either winning or losing

We read another Julia Donaldson's books, about a dragon

They enjoyed creating their own dragons

Just in case we'd forgotten what traffic jams are like...

Tahlia spent a while designing her brightly coloured dragon

Showing their finished dragons

They read some stories about postman bear and a pig who plays hide and seek

Then we played hide and seek

Practising for the end of lockdown
