Day Fifty Nine of LOCKDOWN!

Hard at work building his elaborate railway line

We only have a small patio area but they've been making the most of it

We continued with our books theme - colouring the Very Hungry Caterpillar

Jory writes some of his favourite words: supermarket names

Painting butterflies

Tahlia loves colour mixing
We painted on one side of the page, then folded it and opened it up

Jory opens his painting

She took a little too long to finish hers

Grammar worksheets

Since both our copies of 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'  have fallen into disrepair, we decided to watch Michael Rosen read his story; they all found him hilarious!

We planned and acted out our own bear hunt, starting in our 'home': the playhouse

All ready to begin

Uh oh! A snowstorm!

Into bed. Under the covers. "We're not going on a bear hunt again!"

Going into the cave

We made a sensory tray to tell the bear hunt story; here we have the long wavy grass and the river

Adding mud

We added sticks for the forest and cotton wool for the snow

Finally, we added a cave with a bear inside

They reenacted the story using their favourite superheroes

We talked about the rhythm of the words in the book and had a go at making the rhythm ourselves using coconuts
Jory enjoyed making the clip clop sound
