| Tahlia loves her jewellery |
![]() |
| They did some chores this morning, including sorting the dry washing |
![]() |
| Time for maths |
![]() |
| We headed out for a rainbow walk |
![]() |
| There were a few particularly interesting specimens |
![]() |
| A fun trip to the bottle bank |
![]() |
| Tahlia set up a shop for us all to buy things |
![]() |
| Making Ptolemy the shopkeeper; for some reason that involved wearing a shiny headband |
![]() |
| We watched Julia Donaldson's 'The Snail and the Whale', ready for our activities |
![]() |
| We used a trundle wheel to measure out the length of a blue whale and marked it with chalk |
![]() |
| It was a bit more than the width of three houses |
![]() |
| From one end to the other |
![]() |
| We had some timed running races from one end of the whale to the other; Daddy was the winner |
![]() |
| Tahlia is very quick on her feet; she was close behind Zachary |
![]() |
| Jory's runs for it |
![]() |
| We drew the size of a blue whale's eye, which is surprisingly small (6 in) considering its size; we learnt that blue whales mostly use their hearing to get around so don't need big eyes |
![]() |
| We measured and the drew the size of a blue whale's blowhole |
![]() |
| Next, we measured the width of a blue whale's tail, which involved walking into the road (which fortunately is a lot quieter than usual) |
![]() |
| Mummy and Tahlia standing to show the width of a blue whale's tail |
![]() |
| Ptolemy loved pushing the trundle wheel along |
![]() |
| We measured the lengths of different cars to see which would best represent a blue whale's heart |
![]() |
| This was the winner |
![]() |
| Finally, we measured the size of a blue whale's artery and walked along it |
![]() |
| To continue our Julia Donaldson themed activities, after watching 'Room on the Broom' (we couldn't find our book unfortunately), we started working on the egg enriched dough that we made yesterday |
![]() |
| The main character in the story has a plait in her hair, so we worked on a dough plait |
![]() |
| They began by shaping the dough into three long strands |
![]() |
| Some made their's longer than others so we had to readjust a little |
![]() |
| Tying our plait |
![]() |
| Finishing it off ready for baking |
![]() |
| Next we made witches hats from the story |
![]() |
| Sprinkles on the top |
![]() |
| Finished hats |
![]() |
| We enjoyed our plaited bread (although it lost a bit of definition, it tasted good), with sausages and salad for our tea |

That all looked very Exciting love Jacqui ♥️
