Now that some of the zoo restrictions have eased, we headed to Newquay Zoo for the day. We had to book in a time slot for our arrival, as they are limiting numbers.
Although we had a good day, we frequently saw these signs throughout the park; the maze, all indoor areas, petting area and play areas were closed |
Our first stop was the toilets, where we were reminded of good hand washing technique; three of the five ladies toilets were closed to maintain social distancing between the remaining two (unfortunately, this meant a bit of a queue). |
Daddy couldn't resist photographing the mens (Zachary calls these 'weeing stations'!) |
We stopped for our lunch and some mini chickens came to join us |
Then some seagulls attacked and unnerved them all, especially Ptolemy. Mummy tried to shoo one away, but it kept pecking for a sandwich anyway - it only flew away when Daddy waved it off; now Ptolemy's convinced that seagulls are only scared of big people like Daddy |
They love climbing on these! |
Finding all the animals on the boards |
Jory hanging upside down |
Looking at the different places where you can still find wild lions |
A lynx up close |
Meerkats |
Compare the meerkat |
They enjoyed watching the penguins swimming |
In case you wanted to break the social distancing rules, they've put hatching on the middle bench so you don't sit too close to anyone |
The slide is now hidden behind a bench |
The kids were disappointed to find a 'closed' sign on the maze |
No looking through the telescope |
Some lovely zebra up close from a platform |
Baby deer |
They enjoyed following the arrows in the new one way system around the park |
Seeing the goats up close; the last time we were here, one of them butted Ptolemy and he was upset; he didn't remember it this time |
What a lovely day you had love Jacqui xx
