Our Holiday at Butlins!

We all had a fantastic week staying at Butlins in Minehead. Here are some of the highlights...

All packed up into her 'den'
A tired little unicorn
At the beach in Minehead on a gloriously sunny day

Little Beeb gets covered in sand

Tahlia had a wonderful time playing in the sea - the warmest seawater we've ever known!
After arriving at the park itself and unloading all our luggage (quite a task!) we ventured over to the outdoor toddler play pool which was a big hit.

Not a fan of the water

Splash zone!

Ball game fun

Fun in the sun

Jory spent an hour repeatedly sliding
There are many different playgrounds at Butlins so we could visit a different one nearly every day.

30 seconds from our apartment

Playing Swashbuckle (pirate acting)

A village of colourful houses at another playground

Ptolemy was nifty with his climbing but didn't want to slide

Loving the fireman's pole

Tahlia and Jory braved it on this tube slide

A great start to the day

Exploring the tunnels at the base of a huge play fort

The flowers are lovely and the park is well maintained

Out and about amongst the pretty flowers

The twins loved these giant balls

Football sessions are held several times a week for different age groups which was a great way to let off steam...

Jory is a footie fan so he loved the Tots Fun Football

Lining up for a football game

How many footballs can the blue team collect?

Here's Zachary at one of his age 5-7 football sessions - one of his favourite holiday activities

There was also extensive entertainment aimed at young children so we fit that around our other activities:
Relaxing in a deckchair ready for the entertainment

The Teletubbies Play Date

The Mr Men Funny Factory

The Skyline Gang 'Dance With Us'

Bear puppets in the Puppet Castle theatre

Of course, the World Cup was still in full swing with England reaching the semi final for the first time since 1990. Zachary loved looking at this World Cup board...

He was sad when they had to write a losing score for England against Croatia

Here we are at the Little Stars fairground which is perfect for little ones to have a go on some tamer rides.
They have probably been on this aeroplane ride 10 times during the holiday

Classic teacups

Great XL bouncy castle

The outdoor large Fairground was also excellent, with plenty for the little ones to do:

Lining up to see what they were allowed to go on
Trampolining!

Zachary was the only one tall enough to go on the Dodgems - he loved every moment

Enjoying the carousel

Tahlia riding high

Jory and Tahlia loved the helter skelter but had tantrums when it wasn't their turn

Laughing in the hall of mirrors

Weird and wonderful

A table with 'no' leg

They fancied a little rest

The indoor swimming pool was a fantastic array of fountains, bubbles and waves with large areas suitable for all ages.

All ready for a dip

All snuggled up

They also enjoyed the arcades in the Pavilion:

We had to walk past this every day and Tahlia was always asking for a ride

Tahlia and Zachary demanded a photo every time we passed

Jory loves the teletubbies

Zachary enjoyed a few trips out with Daddy whilst the others napped...

Zachary loves bowling

Adventure golf

Beautifully designed pirate theme for the adventure golf

There are several restaurants within the park. We ventured out to an American 50s style diner which was a little hard work with the kids as the service was terribly slow (our only real negative from the whole trip though!).

Waiting for burgers

Outside the Firehouse Grill

It was finally time to head home, so we waved goodbye to our apartment...

Spacious twin room

We liked the easy cleaning lounge

Small but well equipped kitchen with lots of space for food

Goodbye 102!

Thanks, Butlins, for a wonderful week. We'll certainly plan to return in the future and recommend to anyone with young kids.
