Day Seventy Three of LOCKDOWN!

Zachary is very pleased with his new giant poster - a massive history of the world!

It also has a Biblical history; Zachary loves looking at the great detail

We continued making our Noah's Ark pictures

A Noah's Ark maths challenge: converting the cubits measurements into feet and finding the max. and min. dimensions of the Ark

The flood covers the people and the Ark is afloat with its windows open above

We also set up the flood in the bath

Then it started to rain and everything was covered in water

We learnt that Noah actually didn't just take two of every animal on the Ark; in fact, he took seven of every clean animal. We then had a guessing game as to which animals were clean and unclean. 

They were surprised to learn that grasshoppers are clean but horses are unclean

Once they'd learnt them, they had another go at sorting the pictures

We talked about how Abraham was promised many descendants, then we made our own family trees

Day Seventy Two of LOCKDOWN!

We ventured out into the rain this morning to drop off birthday presents for our friend Harrison nearby

We stopped for a nice chat (it is finally raining!)

It was Bumble's birthday today, so we made a birthday pavlova for her

We started our next project which is a Bible overview; reading the story of creation

We made our own 'creation box', by adding different items to represent the different stages of the creation story

First, we named the letters and names for the days of the week and gave them each a number

Tahlia looked back through her creation book to work out where to put the little sun and moon

We played a game of 'Don't eat the Forbidden Fruit', in which they took it in turns to choose and eat a grape; if they chose the forbidden fruit, they were out!

Day Seventy One of LOCKDOWN!

As it was a sweltering 25⁰C today, we decided to make the most of it and head to the beach at Dawlish Warren...

We were very excited to see a Stormtrooper in Dawlish Warren; he told us he was going home because he was too hot

Tahlia went in up to her neck; the water was surprisingly warm today

Ptolemy loved splashing his feet in the warm water, then he walked in up to his waist (last week, he wouldn't go near the water, as it was cold)

Jory kept filling buckets with water and pouring it over the dry sand

It always takes us a long time to leave, because of this...

Since the shops are now allowed to open, we decided to stock up on a few necessities

Day Seventy of LOCKDOWN!

The kids now have reward charts and we've listed three things for each of them to do/avoid doing each day; they're very keen to get more stamps!

Tahlia completed her Peter Rabbit picture and was very pleased with it
